The aims of the organization shall be:
- to collect and donate books to our library;
- to promote our library as an essential institution, the services it provides and the educational, social and cultural role that it plays in the community;
- to increase awareness of our library’s value to our community through events, and activities;
- to stimulate reading and literacy through activities that include story-telling for children, lectures, discussions, book launches, newsletters, read-a-thons, exhibitions, films, retail sales, fund-raising and all such events that FOCAL may from time to time deem to be appropriate to the furtherance of its objectives.
The organizations secondary objective is to enter into a collaborative agreement with various organizations to support the objectives of FOCAL and Central Library, which are: to provide educational, cultural and social activities for the local community
