Poetry Circle

For all those who like to write, read, or listen to poetry!

All welcome.

Meetings held 2nd Saturday of each month
Time: 2:15 - 4:00pm
Venue: Meeting Room 3rd Floor, Central Library
No charge - but FOCAL would welcome a small voluntary donation to cover cost of tea, photocopying ,etc.

Meetings are relatively informal. We aim to invite one published /well known Cape Town poet to each meeting of the circle to read some of their poems. This is followed with poetry readings by the other circle participants. At some meetings we may focus on and discuss the work of a nationally or internationally known poet. The main purpose though is for those who write their own poetry to get exposure, to share their ideas or experiences with others who have the same love / need to express themselves through the medium of poetry.

After the readings, FOCAL invite all those present to join them for tea and biscuits - a time to network and to get to know each other.
