The
music library has a lending collection of nearly
10 000 CDs and records , over 4000 books and equal
number of scores includes a. range of sheet music
from guitar tutors to opera and symphony scores.
While the CD collection, started in 1992 boasts
a balanced and reasonably broad classical repertoire,
much of the focus of today's limited budget is on
local and African music, World Music and of course
Jazz. CD's now comprise one third of the total sound
recordings available in the library. Also available
for loan are about 50 popular language courses .
At
the far end of the music section is the Video
collection of just over 1 000 videos covering
such topics as Nature, Travel, Art, sport, business,
ballet and opera, as well as filmed classics and
popular childrens' videos
